Welcome to Lochstead

Lochstead is a peaceful, private, residential community of 72 homes in the village of Hatchville in East Falmouth, MA on Cape Cod. The community is bounded by Boxberry Hill Road, Hatchville Road, and roughly 3100 feet of waterfront on beautiful Coonamessett Pond. Since 1982 when the development was created, the one and two story homes were built on modest lots to maintain the wooded, natural vegetation of the area, and minimize the use of fertilizers and chemicals to preserve the health of the pond.

Coonamessett Pond provides the community with a swimming beach, as well as two areas to launch kayaks and small boats. The community also maintains a salt water swimming pool and hot tub, three clay tennis courts, walking trails and much more. Overlooking the pond is the Manor House, the original 1917 English-style country home that has been the center of many of the Association’s activities, as well as used for private functions and events. Lochstead is home to families with young children and teens, retirees, and seasonal residents. Once a predominantly weekend and summer community, many of Lochstead residents now make it their primary home.

Lochstead is located approximately six miles from Falmouth center and Mashpee Commons, both offering excellent restaurants, shopping and services.  The Town of Falmouth has wonderful schools, an excellent hospital and health care facilities, places of worship, theaters, golf courses, libraries and of course, 10 beautiful municipal saltwater beaches.
